about

This song sounds a little different than the other newly recorded tracks. It's not quite as polished because the day I wrote this, a string on my main guitar broke, so I could not plug in to record. I did not have any strings on hand and was really anxious to record the track, so I sat down and did a live recording of voice and guitar together (which I usually don't do). I then added drums and put out the track. I think it might actually be the first track ever that I have done in one take and actually kept. I liked the slightly raw sound, hope you do too!

p.s. Pertaining to the second line of the chorus.....It's actually pronounced strahy-ey-tid but I didn't like that so I kinda implemented my own pronunciation (and definition depending on your interpretation of the song).

lyrics

I find myself in different constraints
the walls do not dictate my ways
I am what others would call
my eyes avoid the other halls

Different species of the owl
Striated by what surrounds

And I'm not saying one is wrong
But our days follow different songs

Different species of the owl
Striated by what surrounds
