The In Between EP

Always lookin' to the future, but of the now you can be sure. With an eye always on the horizon, you'll realize faster that you're dyin'. Maybe the world today will end. Wouldn't you like yourself as a friend? Through all the trials and tribulations, even you require patience. Yes we all know it's tough out there, but you gotta generate your own shelter. Build up that skin for the shit you're in, are you really gonna let hopelessness win? [sing hey] And you're comin' down with somethin' i know. It's everybody else's mind control. When did success turn monetary? We the not so rich think that's hilario- us against the world and time, and when did bein' innocent become a crime? You gotta stop and take a look around, before you realize that you're underground. [sing hey]

The words must flow out of me, or all the world will end? It does not even truly matter, whichever way they wend? Why must they come to me, will someone die or not be free? Why must they come to me, does harm befall what I don't see? If love remains and life survives, I see not why I must press lies. All I can is what I do, to give these words the slip. I even have these other words, tumbling from my lips. The need is less than any other, judged and soon forgot. Their sole point and role in life is to be left to rot. Why do these come, but not the forced? The words and zeal have been divorced.

You knelt and ran an empty cup along the desert floor. You said the grains of sand were those you loved, in the billions maybe more. And then you grinned.... and took my hand once again. The day was scorching, the water cold. I only dared to dip in my toes. You came up fast and pulled me in, said, "You can't spend you're life preparing," and we swam through the best years of my life. And i won't leave you tonight. No i won't leave you tonight. The dreaded four then did begin. You said, "All that's left is where we've been, and the future is but the past, like someone turnin' over an hour glass." And that silly bald man came up to us. He asked us, "Where have you been?" We said, "We're not sorry sir, we're tryin' to escape from this compacted sand we're in." And i won't leave you tonight. I won't leave you tonight. 24 came and 24 went, never regret any hour we spent. You said, "Enjoy the daylight when we're young. When the darkness falls, we'll be the sun." And you never let it fade. You took my hand once again. You said, "One more adventure, some call the end." And like that day in the heat, you pulled and knocked me off my feet. But this time, no i wasn't scared. I won't leave you tonight. I won't leave you tonight.

Each night we relearn patience, and we may take our time. We are not what others make us, we are not one kind. And we are not a wounded people. We are not less strong. We may not turn to the silent steeples, but that doesn't mean they're gone. You don't have to lift us up because nothing weighs us down. If they are silent for just a moment, I'll tell you what I've found.... That we are not a wounded people. We are not less strong. We may not turn to the silent steeples, but that doesn't mean we're wrong. And I'm not sayin' it is peaceful, and it's not like there aren't times... But try to find a group of people, where all is perfectly fine. But we are not a wounded people. We are not less strong. We may not turn to the silent steeples, but that doesn't mean they're gone. And we are not a wounded people. We are not less strong. We may not turn to the silent steeples, but that doesn't mean they're gone.

The Book 01:58
He was half way through the book when he threw it down and the words fell all around him. He looked into the face of the final chapter, into darkness, no one else around. And the cops came, saw the book lying there, incomplete, but they knew who to blame. His characters gathered around questioning what it is that he could have gained. And they said, "Couldn't you have a little consideration for your fans? Finish out the book, keep the ink off of your hands?" (x2) The book was 40 years old. Each warm worded page now lay ink covered and cold. The characters are lonely, left to fend all for themselves. The remaining story never told. "Couldn't you have a little consideration for your fans? Finish out the book, keep the ink off of your hands?" (x2)
