They had somethin stuck down in their throat
from swallowing what they were told
heads always a bit to the ground
never sayin their name too loud
one day the light shined on
planks below and all nerves gone
ears half on soon changed
the first window any gave
creases faltered, corners raised
the first impression they had made
finally hands found their partner
within the walls we felt a stir
one day the light shined on
planks below and all nerves gone
ears half on soon changed
the first window any gave
so the day thanked patience
and spurned the hard resistance
the roar reached the distant boards
late eyes to open to the chord
and so the light shined on
planks below and queries gone
ears completely changed
and many windows on the way

Intravenous Regulation

Plug me in,
Initiate: I.V. Regulation.
I'm goin away for a while.
Drug me up some more,
and slap on a perfect smile.
Count off one, two, four.
Cuz I keep fallin down.
Yeah I'm still fallin down.
Won't you come and rescue me?
Tell me I'm not what I see,
and I don't have to live for them?
Break the glass before me eyes?
Dispel that which occupies my mind,
and the outside of me?
There's the chime,
forever ringin every few hours in this mind.
How is it time again?
This is where I stand,
here, but not alone.
Won't you cut away from me,
and you can fall this time?
Cuz I'm not fallin down.
No I'm not fallin down.
Won't you come and rescue me?
Tell me I'm not what I see,
and I don't have to live for them?
Break the glass before me eyes?
Dispel that which occupies my mind,
and the outside of me?

Lava Lamps

I find myself in different constraints
the walls do not dictate my ways
I am what others would call
my eyes avoid the other halls
Different species of the owl
Striated by what surrounds
And I'm not saying one is wrong
But our days follow different songs
Different species of the owl
Striated by what surrounds

You are young in years they say but,
soon enough it may be your day.
It's a force that can't be beat they tell me,
there's nothin' you can do.
We'll see.
We'll see.
I won't lie down that easily.
No I won't lie down that easily.
So many reports fly in each day
from white coats and red eyes always.
It's a weight that can't be held they tell me,
Nothin to do but wait and see.
We'll see...
I won't lie down that easily.
No I won't lie down that easily.
I've seen two times now come and go,
and I've felt more than I should know
Let me rub your eyes how could it be?
Time is my best friend enemy.

And I'm Off
04:20
|
|||
I'm a man without a house
Never found myself a spouse
My only company is the occasional mouse
But I walk day in and day out
Yes I walk to find a river clear
With no way to steer and overwhelming fear
Yes I walk through the city with calamity streets
With the sounds of bells and whistles
And drumming heart beats
Where buildings scrape the sky
And trees become art
But as I walk I know it's a fine place to start
Because where you begin
Is not where you end
It's the initial friend
As you wend through its ways
And say goodbye to the first days
Of this silly maze
You've gotta get yourself out of this place
And I'm off
I'm in a neighboring state to confusion and illusion
With a little tip for me, to head for open sea
And I walk to the edge of the place of my birth
To see if I can demonstrate accommodating worth
With one foot in the water, I'm nautical fodder
Up around the bend, was Lusitania's end
And the likely possibility of drowning me
But I walk freely to the heart of the wide ocean
And so the wetter, better portion of my tale has begun
I saw creatures of the deep, beasts from one's fantasy
Monsters with seven eyes that tried to snack on me
And I fought my way through the hall of tentacles and teeth
And felt the ground going out from under my feet
And I'm off
I made it to the shore
Left behind the monster's low muffled roar
And I climbed up a grassy mountainside
And I saw before me
A sight that in my mind forever will be
A river that shamed all else one could ever see
I said to myself I think I'll settle here,
Maybe call this place home for several years
I will stay until the day when my heart turns gray
And is no longer enchanted by this beautiful place
