This song was a fickle friend to me for several months. I tried applying lyrics to it on many many occasions. I wrote a few different sets of lyrics for the progression (that were later simply fitted to other songs) and even tried singing each set in new ways. However, despite my best efforts nothing seemed to fit quite right. Therefore, after several months of this, I decided that the song was trying to tell me that it didn't want lyrics. So, I added the higher guitar part that you can hear throughout the song as a kind of solo piece and left the song well alone. I like it as an instrumental and I hope you do too. The title was added after the song was entirely completed and published. I chose it because it was the image that the song evoked for me when I simply sat back and listened. Who doesn't like to stir up a little mischief and then possibly hop a few fences for a quick getaway?
